5th UHVnet Colloquium

5th UHVnet Colloquium - Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th January 2012

The fifth UHVnet colloquium is to be hosted by the University of Leicester on the 18th and 19th January 2012. The venue will be the Engineering Building - for further details and practical information on hotels and transport please see the Venue Information pages. Details of the full technical programme will be available shortly.

Specifically aimed at industrialists, academics, postgraduate students and early career researchers, the colloquium provides the ideal platform to present your research work to other researchers within the UK dielectrics, insulation and high voltage engineering communities.

Registration is free for the Colloquium. This will include tea/coffee during session breaks. However, delegates should make own arrangements for accomodation and breakfast/lunch/dinner. List of campus facilities and local restaurants will be made available. A list of local hotels will also be made available.

Abstracts are invited on a range of topics within the following areas:
. High Voltage Plant: Condition Monitoring, Assessment and Diagnostics
. HV Insulation Systems: Conventional, Composite and Novel Systems
. Dielectric Materials: Measurements and Interpretation
. Theory and Models: Partial Discharge, Insulation Ageing and Degradation

Papers will be presented in both oral sessions and in a poster session. Two invited talks will be given on the emerging technologies of HVDC and Nanomaterials. Three PhD student training workshops and a panel discussion session will take place on the Wednesday.

Abstract submission: Abstracts of 350 words maximum to be submitted by email to the Technical Chair, Stephen Dodd. Eight suitable abstract submissions will be chosen for oral presentations. The remaining will be given as a poster.
